HEAR FROM THE BREWER WHO INVENTED COLD IPA
What is a Cold IPA? Definition explained by Wayfinder brewmaster Kevin Davey by Kevin Davey for NewSchoolBeer. Cold IPA was invented in Portland, OR so I've tried a few recently and they're great! It really ISN'T just an IPL! This explanation about Cold IPA from true master brewer Kevin Davey of Wayfinder should be: a) an inspiration to home & pro brewers to experiment; and b) a mind changer for those inclined to diss whatever the next style trend is -- there may be more to it than is immediately obvious! I.E. "check the technique."

WTF IS A BEER "STYLE" ANYWAY?
Is Cold IPA Really a New Beer Style (and Does that Even Matter)? by Emma Schmitz for CraftBeer.com. I legit lerve to philosophize about defining beer "styles." It's fun because there are no definitive answers about where to split the hairs and do the line drawing. Most of us know what "style" means, we haven't thought too hard about it. I've heard people talk trash on "Cold IPA"...don't do that unless you know why the inventor of it named it differently than IPL.

OLD MAN SHAKES FIST AT “CRISPY” DESCRIPTOR?
Jeff Alworth wants you to get off his lawn! I HAVE A MINOR COMPLAINT: "CRISPY". Jeff goes to great pains to note that this is for entertainment purposes only, so don’t start spamming him with hate mail. In any case it’s fun to consider how language around beer descriptions evolve and trend in and out. Maybe this is the first bell ring for the end of the “crispy boi?”

BLACK MARKET MARIJUANA:
National Geographic’s Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller S2Ep3 “Black Market Marijuana.  This episode of Trafficked looks at California’s black market for weed, which odd as it may seem, has mushroomed since marijuana legalization four years ago.

AMAZING ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY:
13 Astrophotographers Capturing the Awe-Inspiring Wonders of the Galaxy by Sara Barnes and Claudicet Pena for My Modern Met. I just love this insanely cool photography and wanted to share. Have some of that stuff from the link above and go stare into the abyss!

Have a lovely weekend, y'all!
